Data Scientist Intern - Fall 2026

The intern will work across cross-functional teams on data-driven logistics challenges at Uber Freight.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with data scientists, engineers, and stakeholders to address business problems.
• Implement statistical and machine learning approaches such as causal inference, recommender systems, and time series forecasting.
• Manage projects independently from initial exploration through production deployment.
• Contribute to internal data product enhancements.
• Communicate findings to technical and non-technical audiences.

Required Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in a quantitative field with expected graduation Fall 2026 or Spring 2027.
• Programming proficiency in Python or R for model development.
• SQL competency for data manipulation.
• Understanding of statistical/ML methods including regression, classification trees, unsupervised learning, and causal inference.
• Strong problem-solving abilities in ambiguous settings.
• Collaborative approach and willingness to grow in a dynamic environment.
