Tines is seeking a software engineer to join the team bringing Tines to federal customers in AWS GovCloud. The role focuses on building product features and tooling that let Tines run seamlessly in compliance-regulated environments while preserving the experience commercial users get. You can work fully remotely from anywhere in the US, with a preference for being based in the Greater Boston Area.
What You Will Be Doing
- Design, build, and harden product features within compliance-regulated cloud environments, with emphasis on security controls, data privacy, and auditability
- Build AWS GovCloud-specific features including federal authentication methods, audit capabilities, and tenant operation tooling
- Create abstractions that reduce friction for engineers authoring and testing government cloud features without direct access
- Enable seamless feature development across commercial and government environments through observability and logging solutions
- Analyze applications for security gaps and implement hardening measures meeting government standards
- Collaborate cross-functionally to translate compliance requirements into engineering solutions
- Mentor engineers on secure design patterns for regulated environments
- Support self-hosted federal customers and handle on-call responsibilities
Key Requirements
- Approximately 7+ years of professional software engineering experience as a senior-level engineer
- Direct experience building software using high-level programming languages
- Experience in compliance-regulated or security-sensitive environments (FedRAMP, FISMA, SOC 2, HIPAA) preferred
- Demonstrated ability reasoning about application-layer security
- Curiosity and eagerness to learn across diverse technical domains
- Customer-focused approach with willingness to investigate complex technical issues
- U.S. citizenship required; applicants must work within the United States
Target salary range: $210,000 - $220,000 + equity
