About Setu

India's economic infrastructure needs a complete overhaul. Today our digital economy rides on rickety monolithic systems built in the mid-90s. It takes months to do a simple bank integration and launch a fintech product. This inefficiency cannot continue. If our economy has to grow, we need killer API infrastructure for financial services that rivals the likes of Stripe, and AWS. At Setu, we are fixing this for good, by abstracting away the complexity of working with legacy financial infrastructure and replacing it with a developer platform that offers clean, high-performance API bundles to embed finance into any application. So that developers can do what they do best, build amazing products that improve people's lives.

Importance of the role

This is a mission-critical role. We are a small, diverse, agile, and high-performance engineering team. We're looking for versatile developers who will: Build new products and tools to crunch integration times and time to market. Improve through peer learning and transmit them to the Setu dev ecosystem. Take ownership and get the job done. We need role-shapers, not role takers. One particular area of focus for us is to empower developers and users to make the most of financial data. Today, our data is locked up in silos that add friction to how data is accessed and shared. With RBI's new Account Aggregator framework, this will change forever: data will be seamlessly shared and accessed, based entirely on user consent. At Setu, we are leading this ecosystem shift and building developer infrastructure and user experiences to enable this change. Our APIs and SDKs will enable developers to improve existing fintech apps and build new apps that amaze all of us.

What will you do at Setu

Work with product and engineering teams to build tools and services that impacts and improves the efficiency of the entire organization. Figure out gaps in the engineering and products and build solutions that solve these gaps. Guide interns and contribute across teams (PRD reviews, MR reviews) and contribute toward improving the product engineering quality and benchmarks. Build high scale and durable solutions that stand the test of time. Stay updated with coding trends and developments.

Who is the right fit for this role

2 - 4 years of experience with programming. Experience with programming languages (e.g.: Java/Python/Go/Rust/Ruby/Javascript) and SQL. Experience working in cloud environments (AWS/GCP/Azure). Ability to work effectively in a dynamic group that has several concurrent projects. Ability to communicate effectively (verbally and in writing) with various stakeholders and can crisply articulate customer challenges. Most importantly, someone who can get stuff done!
