Forward Deployed Engineer

Role Purpose

• Embed directly with clients to understand their business problems first-hand, building the peer-level relationships that let you shape the right solution on the ground
• Rapidly translate ambiguous problems into working prototypes and a pragmatic delivery plan, de-risking the approach by getting something real in front of the client early
• Work hands-on across strategy, design and engineering — liaising with Enteprise Architects, Designers and Business Analysts to turn concepts into usable, feasible, production-ready solutions
• Own delivery end-to-end on the ground, communicating clearly with track leads and mentoring a collaborative team to meet and exceed client expectations

What you will bring

• Deep engineering foundations - you bring 10+ years of software engineering and a Computer Science background (or equivalent), with mastery of the fundamentals behind scalable, testable architecture and the breadth to move fluently across languages, stacks, and problem domains.
• Full-stack versatility - you work hands-on across the software development lifecycle (SDLC) with depth in Python, Java, React or similar frameworks, and own problems end-to-end, switching layers and tools as the work demands
• A bias for rapid prototyping - you turn a loosely defined problem into a working prototype in days, put something tangible in front of the client early, and let real feedback rather than a perfect spec drive each iteration.
• Comfort operating in ambiguity - you can step into an unfamiliar client environment with an ill-defined brief, ask the right questions, and shape it into a concrete technical plan without waiting for detailed requirements.
• A forward-deployed, client-facing mindset - you work embedded alongside client teams, translate business problems into technical solutions, and explain trade-offs clearly to engineers and non-technical stakeholders alike.
• An AI-led approach to building - you reach for AI coding assistants and agentic tooling by default to move faster, and you can engineer the harnesses (evals, test scaffolding, and guardrails) that make non-deterministic AI systems reliable enough to ship.
• Hands-on cloud experience - you ve built and deployed in AWS, GCP or Azure, and you pick up new cloud services quickly as the work demands.
